Full Auto
This update brings eight new guns, rockets and C4, building at any angle, farming with genes, swimming, bleeding and seven clothing slots, a casino in the middle of a rebuilt THE GATE, the companion for your team on your phone, and the Realm skin drop, along with a reworked loot table, slower hunger and thirst, and a long list of fixes. It comes with a wipe.
Guns

Eight new guns join the revolver. Every gun has an aim cone, bloom when you hold the trigger, recoil you pull down, and damage that falls off with range. Aiming down the sights tightens the cone and halves the kick.
| Gun | Damage | Rounds | Fire | Ammo | Hits to kill, unarmoured |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Assault Rifle | 50 | 30 | full auto, 450/min | 5.56 | 2 |
| Semi-Automatic Rifle | 40 | 16 | semi | 5.56 | 3 |
| Bolt Action Rifle | 80 | 4 | bolt, pin-point when aimed | 5.56 | 2 |
| Thompson | 38 | 20 | full auto, 450/min | pistol | 3 |
| Custom SMG | 30 | 30 | full auto, 600/min | pistol | 4 |
| Python Revolver | 55 | 6 | semi | pistol | 2 |
| Semi-Automatic Pistol | 40 | 10 | semi | pistol | 3 |
| Revolver | 35 | 8 | semi | pistol | 3 |
| Pump Shotgun | 15 pellets × 14 | 8 | pump | 12 gauge buckshot | 1 shell |
Every gun is a Blueprint: research it at a table or unlock it on the tech tree. The Black Ziggurat's blue room can drop a Python, and the sanctum drops rifles, Thompsons, shotguns, rockets and C4. Each gun family reloads with its own sound, and far gunfire sounds different for rifles, SMGs, pistols, pumps and bolt rifles, so you can read a fight across the valley by ear.
Spread and loot rolls now draw on a server secret instead of the public world seed. Before this, a cheat that knew the seed could work out where its next shot would land.
Raiding

| Charge | Fuse | Blast | Against a body | Against a building |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Satchel Charge | as before | as before | 475 | 125 |
| Timed Explosive Charge (C4) | 10 s, never a dud | 3 m | 550 | 275 |
| Rocket | flies 30 m a second | 3 m | 275 | 125 |
| Beancan Grenade | 4 s, about 1 in 7 is a dud | 2 m | 115 | 25 |
The Barbed Wooden Barricade (400 hp) and Floor Spikes cut anyone who touches them.
You can now only plant a charge on what you can see: the first wall on your line of sight, or a box or cupboard in clear view. A raider standing at the outer wall could plant straight onto the cupboard behind it and skip the base, and that's gone.
Build at any angle

A foundation placed on open ground starts its own building, turned to face wherever you're looking. Walls, floors, stairs, doors, windows, deployables and upkeep all work on a turned building the same as a square one, and triangles are equilateral now.
The placement ghost asks the server the same question the server asks, so green means it will place, and a placed piece shows up at once instead of a moment later. The build wheel is new too: the chosen shape in green, its name, a line on what it is, its price, and 21 new shape icons.
Farming

A planter box has six beds and each seed is one plant. Plants grow through stages, ripen, and wither if you leave them, and a plant's health is the worst of its water, its soil and the air. You can also sow straight into open meadow or forest, where the soil sets how fast it grows.
Seeds carry genes. Plants in a bed crossbreed once, and C cuts a clone that keeps its parent's genes. Potatoes, pumpkins and berry bushes join corn, and eating a cob, a potato or a pumpkin leaves you its seed. The Water Catcher (100 wood, 1 tarp) banks rain, fills a skin, and waters whatever grows within 3 m.
Water

Water deeper than 1.15 m floats you. Crouch dives, jump rises, and you steer where you look. You hold your breath for 10 seconds, then drown. No guns, bows, charges or building while you swim, but foundations now stand in up to 2 m of water.
Right mouse pours a full skin or jug: fresh water puts out fires and waters planters, salt water dries them out. The Salt Waterskin fills at the sea and boils fresh on a camp fire in 30 seconds. The sea itself is new: a swell that moves under you, breakers, rain rings, wakes behind swimmers, and the sky through a window above you when you're under.
Clothing, bleeding and teas

There are seven clothing slots now (head, face, shirt, body, legs, hands and feet) and fourteen new clothes to fill them. The Snow Jacket keeps out 90% of the cold.
A hit opens a wound worth a fifth of its damage, which bleeds 20 hp a minute until it has taken that much. Bandages are held: click to wrap one on over 4 seconds, and switch away to cancel. A bandage stops 50 bleeding and a medkit 100.
| Tea | Recipe | Does |
|---|---|---|
| Warming Tea | 4 berries, 2 animal fat | +5 °C for 20 minutes |
| Strong Warming Tea | 2 warming teas, 2 mushrooms | +10 °C for 30 minutes, and the cold can't hurt you |
| Cooling Tea | 3 cactus flesh, 2 berries | −10 °C for 20 minutes |
| Warding Tea | 10 charcoal, 2 mushrooms, 2 berries | keeps out 15% more of the Verdigris for 30 minutes |
| Healing Tea | 3 berries, 2 mushrooms | 30 hp over 30 seconds |
Every tea is also worth 30 water.
THE GATE

THE GATE is a city now. A 92 m sandstone gate with a 41 m ring stands over the plaza, and the containers around it became the ancient city's blocks. Vending machines stand at the six stalls, run by shopkeepers who greet you and thank you after a sale, and guards walk the streets with revolvers.

The casino sits under a timber roof that keeps the rain off. The wheel has 25 segments (twelve 1s, six 3s, four 5s, two 10s and one 20) and a win pays your stake times the number, plus your stake back. Bets are open for 45 seconds, then it spins for 15, up to 100 JUNK a colour. Slots cost 2 JUNK a line, one to five lines, and pay on three of a kind.
| Game | Pays back |
|---|---|
| Wheel, on 1 | 96% |
| Wheel, on 3 | 96% |
| Wheel, on 5 | 96% |
| Wheel, on 10 | 88% |
| Wheel, on 20 | 84% |
| Slots | 88.6% |
A test holds every return under 100%. We'll watch how much JUNK the casino takes and adjust.
The island

The desert is paler sand under golden grass, with cycads, sandstone and palms in three shapes. Cliffs are solid now: you can't walk up a rock face from any angle, and arrows and dropped items hit the rock you see. Every boulder is 1.4 times bigger.
Wolves outrun a sprint now, and pigs keep up with one. The attack helicopter only hunts armed players, meaning a gun on your hotbar or a full set of armour, so a fresh spawn on the beach is left alone. It also stays out of the rain.
Your base in your pocket

The companion is a web page for your team: sign in with the wallet you play with and you get your team on the map, team chat both ways, and raid alerts when your base takes hits. Signing in is pairing, because the wallet is the identity everywhere. TEAM APP in the main menu takes you there.
Elo Pros friends are in game too: a FRIENDS tab, friends on your nametags and in chat, and a profile card when you click a name. Contacts remember players you've met, with a mugshot, and you can mark them FRIENDLY or ENEMY.
The Realm drop

Twelve skins in three sets, each painted over the item's own model, and Verdigris glows. Every skin with a model now shows a picture of itself in the store, the inventory, the belt and the craft picker.
Notable changes
- Spawning hurt. You wake at 55 health, 75 food and 50 water.
- Slower hunger. Standing still, a full stomach lasts three hours (from one) and full water two (from 40 minutes).
- Loot. Trees give wood only. Barrels, crates and the Ziggurat give JUNK, parts and gear, with no cloth, fat, frags, sulfur, gunpowder or corn. THE GATE sells the frags they no longer pay.
- Melee timing. A swing lands 133 ms after the click, when the animation strikes, so you can read a swing coming and step out of it.
- Reach. Every melee weapon reaches as far as its model: a bat 1.35 m, a spear up to 1.9 m.
- Punching. An empty hand throws a 5-damage punch that costs you 2 hp.
- Vending machines. Craft one (300 wood, 75 frags) and sell from outside your base, priced in JUNK.
- Locks you can see. Keypads and padlocks sit on every locked door, box and hearth.
- Tool cupboard. E at the hearth opens upkeep, stock and FEED on the inventory page.
- Twig upkeep. Twig pays upkeep now, and a stocked cupboard keeps it standing.
- Tech tree. Full-screen, sixteen new items, and a node buys its whole path.
- Hazmat Suit. Waterproof, full-body, wards off half the Verdigris.
- Achievements. 81 in four sets, with an in-game popup.
- New HUD. A tape compass, a flat belt and paler vitals.
- POTATO graphics. Picked for you when frames drop on a weak machine.
- Streamer mode. Made-up names, hidden wallets and servers, door codes as dots.
- Voice. Push to talk is V, with a full VOICE CHAT settings section.
- Payouts. On servers that pay, JUNK carried out pays wallets that played 2 hours that wipe, counted from walking and doing things, not standing idle. We'll see how that sits and adjust.
- Blueprints wipe every fourth wipe, about once a month.
- A free copy of Gates for every player who joins, until 1 December.
For server owners
